The arrival of the 2013 Mustang isn’t the only thing sports car enthusiasts can look forward to this year.  The new “Track Apps” system will have owners of the new 2013 model wanting to get on the track and heat up the engine.

Track Apps is a new built-in feature that gives Mustang drivers the opportunity to measure their performance while driving these speed machines.

The Acceleration Timer allows drivers to record their 0-30 mph, 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph, 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile times.  Drivers can also measure their stopping time and distance from 60-0 and 100-0 with the Brake Performance feature.  To see how hard the car is working in the corners, the Accelerometer was added to the Track App to measure g-forces.

Mustang drivers can expect to feel like true racecar drivers with the Track App’s ability to mimic lights of a drag strip—giving a countdown before stomping on the gas pedal.  Drivers have the opportunity to look at their top times on the results screen.

Just be sure to remember the Track App is best used while testing on the “track”, not so much on public roads.
